Privacy policy

The short version: the Celestial app has no account and no tracking. What you write stays on your iPhone, and we never receive it.

What the app keeps, and where

To help you, Celestial keeps what you tell it: the habit you’re working on, your answers to the starting questions, your hard times and hard day, your reason for changing, your daily promises and how each day went, your plan, the people you add (a name and a phone number), your journal and letters, and a photo if you choose one.

All of it is stored only on your iPhone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. We have no servers that hold your data, so we can’t see it, share it, sell it or lose it in a breach.

What we don’t do

• No account, sign-up or email address.
• No analytics, advertising or tracking in the app, and no data sold or shared.
• No AI: nothing you write is sent to an AI service.

Things that go through Apple or your phone

• Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details; the app only checks with Apple whether your subscription is active.
• Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. They never say what you’re working on.
• Contacts and photos: if you pick a contact or a photo, only the one you pick is copied into the app, on your phone. Celestial never reads your address book or photo library.
• Texts and calls to your people open your own Messages or Phone app. Nothing goes through us.
• Backups: if your iPhone backs up to iCloud or a computer, that backup may include Celestial’s data, under Apple’s terms. You can also save a file yourself from Me → Your data → Download my data; where you keep it is up to you.

Deleting your data

In the app, go to Me → Your data → Delete everything. Deleting the app also removes its data from your phone. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Health information

What you tell Celestial can be about your health. You give your explicit consent when you start, and you can delete it at any time as described above. Celestial is for adults aged 18 and over.

This website

This website (not the app) uses Google Analytics to count visits, only if you allow it in the cookie banner. If you allow it, Google sets cookies and receives the pages you visit, roughly where you are, your device and browser, and how you arrived. We use it only to see which pages help people. Google signals and advertising features are off, so visits aren’t linked to a Google account or used for ads. Google keeps the data for 14 months. If you decline, nothing is loaded from Google. You can change your choice any time with Cookie settings. Google’s own policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and time of visit) for security and keeps them only briefly. Links to the App Store and to health services take you to their sites, which have their own policies.
